May
24, 2005, SACRAMENTO, CA -
Hip Service announced today that it has signed a
promotional deal with Clear Channel to promote its debut
album, UNCOVERED. As part of the agreement, Clear
Channel, in association with its Sacramento-based
affiliate, KHYL-FM, V101.1, will be showcasing the band
with commercial spots, on-air artist interviews, and
promotional remote giveaways.
Already creating a buzz in the Adult Contemporary and
R&B music world, Hip Service has assembled ten (10)
chart-topping hits that appeal across the radio
spectrum. With the help of Tower of Power's guitarist,
Jeff Tamelier, as producer, and Grammy® nominated
engineer Mark Needham, Hip Service's debut album
includes the hit singles, Hip2DaFunk, I'm a Dancer, and
I Should Have Understood.
Available June 7th at record stores and online at www.hipservice.com,
Hip Service's debut album is being called 'the next
generation Adult Contemporary sound.' As its album cover
illustrates, Hip Service bares all -- dropping its
highly recognizable 'cover' tunes borrowed from bands
like Chicago, Earth, Wind & Fire, & Tower of
Power, -- to unleash their own brand of Adult
Contemporary/R&B music in UNCOVERED.

Bromley & Lacy Appeal to
Audiences Across Radio Spectrum
|
|
The
writing team of Dave Bromley & Bruce Lacy have
collaborated on UNCOVERED to produce some of the
best Adult Contemporary and R&B tunes, in years.
Combining soulful lyrics with high energy horn riffs,
Bromley & Lacy tunes are sure to be added to dance
clubs & radio play lists.
"I'll never forget the excitement we felt after
finishing the demo for 'I Should Have Understood',"
recalls Bromley. Adds Lacy, "From that point on we
knew we had something special and we've been writing
together ever since."

About
the Producer - Jeff Tamelier
|
Jeff
Tamelier has been entertaining Rock & Roll audiences
for over 20 years -- the last ten years as guitarist for
Tower of Power. During the years, Jeff's musical credits
have included stints with Pacific, Brass & Electric,
Starship, and Cold Blood. Equally impressive have been
Jeff's musical and video publications. His debut album,
"Strat Got Yo' Tongue" led to his
instructional videotape, "Learn Funk Guitar with
Tower of Power's Jeff Tamelier."
Partnered with his friend and TOP bandmate, Stephan
"Doc" Kupka at Strokeland Records, Jeff
recently formed his own label, Blindgym Productions
(Antioch, Calif.) to produce his own projects. "I
was at the right place, at the right time to work with
Hip Service," said Tamelier. "They were mostly
playing covers for corporate & nightclub gigs,
including a few gigs for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
But, their originals were solid gold, with a new
millennium edge, so I was happy to get them into the
studio."

About
the Mix Engineer - Mark Needham
|
Grammy
award nominated Mark Needham is a legendary mix
engineer, music production, and recording engineer,
working with the top names in the entertainment
business. After 33 years, Mark has done it all. A
favorite of Chris Isaak, Fleetwood Mac, the Killers,
Cake, and many other top artists, Mark worked on the
final mastering of Hip Service's debut CD between
upcoming projects of Paul Simon's forthcoming album
(Warner Bros.) and The Killers "All These That I've
Done" (Island Records). Recently moving his studio
from Chatsworth to the Hollywood hills, Mark's
contribution to Hip Service's debut album went beyond
the mix; adding distinctive drum & percussion tracks
to provide a solid dance beat.
"Mark's input provided a real added value to our
final tracks," stated Jeff Tamelier. "Some
things you can't find anywhere else but in Mark's board,
so it's no wonder why so many artists seek him
out."
